Google Maps Will Answer Your Questions Too

Google Maps Will Answer Your Questions Too

Google Maps

Google is constantly updating and improving its products, and it is usually pretty great. Google Maps is the standard for getting where you are going, much like printing out MapQuest directions back in the day or using a Thomas Guide in California. The program is updating soon to allow questions and answers within the application.

To ask or answer a question—or read the existing questions and answers about a place— search for the location on Google Maps or Search and open the local business listing. Then scroll down to the “Question & answers” section where you can add a question, answer someone else’s question, or upvote informative ones by tapping the thumbs up icon. Upvoted questions and answers will appear toward the top of the section so that the most helpful content is most accessible.

This is especially helpful for business owners who want to make sure they are putting out accurate information and helping answer customer questions that are frequently asked. Make sure your local business has a page within Google to take advantage of this. When someone asks a question about your particular business, Google will notify the business owner so they can hop in and answer the question. Then Google will notify the person who asked the question that it has been answered. Being responsive inside the app, will likely help your standing when people are searching for what you have to offer locally.

The addition of questions and answers within Google Maps will also help you to discover local businesses, especially when you are traveling. This will allow you to discover new places and know exactly what to expect from the location. This will be a helpful tool on both sides of the business, for owners and consumers.
